Following the success of our Notting Hill neighbourhood restaurant, SUMI Marylebone will be a gem in one of London's most exciting dining destinations showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients, the best sushi preparation and warm, welcoming service. We're looking for talented individuals to join our founding team from day one, help us bring this exceptional restaurant to life, and grow with us as we establish a new benchmark for Japanese dining in London.

The Role

As a Waiter/Waitress, you will be at the heart of the SUMI experience, offering warm, attentive and knowledgeable service throughout every guest's visit. You will work closely with the Head Waiter and wider restaurant team to ensure each service runs smoothly, from preparing the restaurant and welcoming guests to serving food and drinks.

What You'll Be Doing

• Welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism
• Preparing the restaurant and maintaining excellent presentation throughout service
• Serving food and drinks promptly and accurately
• Learning our menus, ingredients, daily specials and allergen procedures
• Confidently answering questions and making thoughtful recommendations
• Taking and processing orders accurately through the till system
• Recognising regular guests and helping us remember their preferences
• Anticipating guests' needs and responding quickly to requests
• Supporting the Head Waiter and wider team to deliver seamless service
• Setting, clearing and resetting tables efficiently
• Following opening, closing, hygiene and safety procedures
• Taking part in daily briefings and ongoing training

What We're Looking For

Previous experience in a quality restaurant or hospitality environment would be an advantage, but we are equally interested in people with the right attitude, energy and desire to learn.

You will need:

• A genuine passion for hospitality and looking after guests
• A warm, confident and professional manner
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Excellent attention to detail and high personal standards
• The ability to remain calm and organised during busy services
• An interest in developing your food, drinks and service knowledge
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays

Salary: Up to £16.01 including service charge, plus benefits
