We have a unique and pivotal opportunity to provide financial control and analysis for the Production and Logistics departments of Britain's Oldest Brewer.

As the Production and Logistics Finance Manager, you will oversee the management of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities. Your insights will drive performance improvements and strategic decisions, making a tangible impact on our business. You will chair monthly review meetings with key stakeholders, offering recommendations that shape our future and collaborate closely with our supply chain team,  ensuring seamless alignment between operational and financial plans.

  • Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch (unpaid).

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage all budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities, and subsequent reporting for Production and Logistics
  • Undertake the monthly management accounts, including the posting of all accruals and prepayments, variance analysis, including key performance metrics 
  • Chair monthly review meetings with key stakeholders, providing insight and recommendations into performance control
  • Build detailed finance packs to help support business partners at all levels across the business
  • Work closely with our supply chain team for complete alignment between the operational and financial plan
  • Carry out all operational financial appraisals of new capital investments and submit for Board approval
  • Attend regular operational meetings, providing financial support and insights
  • Calculate and set the internal transfer prices for all manufactured products
  • Critically evaluate purchase price variances on all input costs associated with the manufacturing process and purchase of non own beer, wine, spirits and minerals
  • Working closely with external auditors to co-ordinate the interim and full-year stock counts in respect of raw, packaging and all finished good stock materials
  • Partner with our 3rd Party logistics provider to ensure adherence to joint budgets at all times and identify opportunities for cost optimisation
  • Own and be responsible for HMRC excise and deferred duty ledgers, reporting and compliance
  • Regularly audit internal operational teams for stock accuracy, quantity and value
  • Support the buying process for raw and packaging materials in respect of contract evaluation, price, variance to standard
  • Monitor utility consumptions, track adherence to contract obligations and provide regular insight into forecast kWh’s demand 


The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT.
  • Qualified with on for the following or equivalent CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT
  • Exposure of Consumer Finance, Retail Operations and Manufacturing industries is desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrable experience of using a computerised accounting package, SAP would be advantageous
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively build relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and able to respond to short deadlines
