Distribution Manager

The Role:
The Distribution Manager will be responsible for overseeing the performance of CAVA’s external network of 30+ distribution centers. As part of a Supply Chain team of 6, the Distribution Manager will play a key role in executing our overall goal of ensuring that stores receive high-quality products that meet internal specifications, delivered on time, and charged at the right price.

What You’ll Do:
• Manage and monitor inventory levels at distribution centers to ensure consistent supply of products for our restaurants.
• Conduct distribution benchmarking, RFP, and negotiations.
• Act as an intermediary between distribution centers and suppliers to help facilitate speedy resolution to any shortages or delays on inbound purchase orders.
• Implement systems and procedures for tracking distribution KPI’s - including order fill rate, on-time delivery, damages, and quality related issues.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to execute and manage supplier contracts and validate distributor invoice pricing accuracy.
• Provide root cause analysis and corrective action plans around service and quality related issues.
• Support in the cross-functional execution of new product rollouts and LTO’s by ensuring items are stocked at DC’s in time for Operations training and menu rollout dates. Manage the depletion of discontinued items to minimize financial exposure of dead stock inventory.
• Align distribution contracts, SOPs, reporting, and technology systems.
• Provide detailed volume forecasts to distributors to proactively account for changes in demand due to seasonality, menu rollouts, and new restaurant openings.
• Support the logistics and distribution of CAVA’s internal manufacturing operation to help optimize transportation efficiency and reduce freight costs.
• Work with Suppliers on unbundling freight cost and identifying transportation efficiencies.

The Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 5-7 years’ experience in food service, distribution, or transportation management.
• Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office suite. Experience using third party supply chain technology platforms is preferred.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, experience managing relationships with a large network of external vendors.
• Project management experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High energy with a positive, servant leadership attitude.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods
• Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Must be able to identify, assess and observe detail
• Must be able to push and pull up to 35 pounds

• Must be able to sit, squat and kneel occasionally
• Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
• May be required to occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions
