The Role:
As a Senior Data Architect with Cava you’ll work with a team to create solutions to support over 300+ restaurant locations nationwide. You’ll help define the workflows, structure and best practices around our new data warehouse solution and work closely with the development team to execute your vision for an organizational-wide data strategy. You’ll be part of a team driving technology as a solution and providing great experiences for the entire Cava organization.

What you’ll do:
We believe data lies at the foundation of CAVA’s success. As a data architect, you will play a strategic role driving the growth of CAVA by working with our marketing, operations, digital, and development teams to leverage your knowledge of enterprise architecture to design scalable and innovative platforms. You will help guide a team of talented engineers and data scientist to design, build, optimize and maintain cloud-native solutions such as a modern data warehouse, data lake, business insights, analytics reporting, master data management, customer360 platforms.

• Design strategies, architecture, and programs to collect, store, and analyze data from internal/external sources for reporting and modeling
• Drive the development of reference architecture and implementation of data management methods, structures, and modeling standards
• Implement industry standard development policies and procedures as well as provide oversight and governance on strategic data initiatives to ensure alignment
• Work with the business owners to identify and close gaps, build, and maintain their conceptual and logical data models
• Apply your expertise to consult with solutions delivery teams and help model and own structured and unstructured data for applications.
• Execute a “Single Source of Truth” initiative by ensuring strategic data projects are based on well-designed and stable foundations, and align with quality, metadata, security and technology standards. 
• Participate in solutioning of all data component design (Operational data stores, data distribution services, Data Lake/Warehousing, ETL/ELT, user interface, analysis/reporting, etc.)
• Lead efforts to define/refine execution standards for data structure and architecture
• Regularly interact with leadership on work status, task prioritization, and resource allocation needs
• Research and develop proof of concepts for data technology and architecture in alignment with key projects
• Define methods for implementing solutions for database performance measurement and monitoring. 
• Coach and mentor team members to improve their designs and ETL processes and review deliverables to ensure teams are meeting quality and conformity expectations

Preferred Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Architecture and Data Lake/Warehousing; preferably in a AWS Cloud data environment
• Strong understanding of data modeling principles including Relational/Dimensional modeling, data normalization principles etc.
• 5+ years’ work experience implementing and reporting on business key performance indicators in data warehousing environments.
• 5 + years’ experience working with distributed systems such as Redshift, Hadoop / Hive, BigQuery and Relation databases.
• 2+ Years of experience programming languages (e.g. Python, R, bash).
• 2+ years of experience with workflow management tools preferably in Dell Boomi
• Expert level understanding of SQL Engines and able to for conduct advanced performance tuning
• Experience with cloud data platform like AWS/GCP/Azure etc; preferably in AWS.
• Experience with merging traditional data warehouse modeling with newer cloud data technologies
• Experience with one or more data modeling tools like Erwin, Visio, and Enterprise Architect
• Familiarity with data exploration / data visualization tools like Tableau.
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal presentations.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative agile environment.
