SUMMARY OF POSITION 

What's the Gig, you ask?

As a Sales Manager at Clays, you’ll combine sales excellence and exceptional hospitality. You’ll be a key player in the team to deliver our sales goals. You'll thrive in both proactive and reactive sales environments, spotting opportunities before they land, responding quickly to inbound enquiries, and always bringing value with energy and insight.

You’ll bring enthusiasm, confidence, and a can-do attitude to everything you do—building genuine relationships, understanding your clients’ world inside out, and taking initiative without needing to be asked. 

You’ll lead from the front—handling client calls, quoting with confidence, and ensuring we’re offering smart, tailored solutions to create amazing experiences. You’ll mentor junior team members, collaborate with other departments. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role will include but may not be limited to the following responsibilities;

Sales Excellence

  • Consistently hit and exceed pre-booked sales targets 
  • Proactively create demand through outreach and partnerships while  confidently converting inbound leads
  • Engage clients with thoughtful, relevant communication at every stage of the sales cycle - building understanding and driving conversion
  • Mentor and support Sales executives - setting clear standards, sharing knowledge and helping them grow through change
  • Collaborate with senior leaders on new campaigns, venue launches, pop-ups and high-impact events
  • Excellent use of systems to track and report on performance. Create and monitor Salesforce dashboards and use these to uncover trends and drive data-informed decisions
Exceptional Hospitality

  • Deliver tailored, thoughtful responses to phone and email enquiries - ensuring every interaction reflects Clays’ brand and values
  • Accurately record guest data and preferences in our reservations system to personalise service and enhance guest journey
  • Prioritise effectively, solve problems creatively and draw on team knowledge to overcome challenges and seize opportunities
  • Monitor booking trends, competitor activity and client behaviour to continuously refine your approach, learning from results and driving improvement across the team

SKILLS, DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Proven track record delivering in a similar position for 4+ years 
  • Knowledge of CRM tools, particularly Salesforce 
  • Confident managing both proactive outreach and reactive inbound enquiries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in hospitality, events, or reservations
  • Proven ability to close sales and consistently hit revenue targets
  • Ability to anticipate client needs and pitch creative, tailored solutions
  • Comfortable identifying new business opportunities with existing clients and third-party partners
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients and colleagues
  • Highly self-motivated with a proactive mindset—gets things done without being asked
  • Skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
