ROLE

The CMO leads Smashburger’s marketing to drive brand relevance, traffic, and long-term growth. This is a hands-on, brand-first leader who owns strategy and execution—shaping creative, accelerating performance, and staying close to the guest and the business.

A critical partner to franchisees, this leader ensures marketing is practical, scalable, and drives results at the restaurant level

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

Brand & Growth

  • Define and lead brand positioning in the better burger category
  • Turn insights into focused, high-impact marketing plans
  • Drive menu innovation with culinary partners
  • Ensure a consistent, differentiated brand experience across all touchpoints

Marketing Execution

  • Lead all marketing: product, digital, local, PR, and promotions
  • Own media strategy, investment, and ROI
  • Move fast—turning ideas into action with high standards
  • Stay close to creative and campaigns to ensure standout execution
  • Use data to continuously improve performance

Franchisee Partnership

  • Build trust and alignment with franchisees
  • Ensure programs are executable, relevant, and drive unit-level results

Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing marketing team
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive business growth
  • Set a high bar for accountability, speed, and quality

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15+ years in marketing leadership (restaurant, retail, or consumer)
  • Track record of building brands and driving growth
  • Expertise in media, agencies, and integrated marketing
  • Experience in franchise or multi-unit environments
