Description

We are looking for a Captain to join our team and be the face and main point of contact for our guests.

Job Brief:
Captain responsibilities include maintaining the floor, providing accurate wait times and escorting customers to their seats, being well versed in our culinary and beverage program, as well as being available to assist with any issues that may arise throughout service. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure, as well as communication skills to be in constant touch with our corporate team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Welcoming guests to the venue and managing their experience throughout their dining time, being a lead on the floor and example to all other staff members
Providing accurate wait times to walk ins and monitoring reservations throughout service
Provide support and hospitality to all guests as per company specification and steps of service
Maintain a clean and orderly venue, including dining and storage areas
Go above and beyond to cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g. children, elderly)
Approximately 10 hours per week of additional administrative duties including inventory, ordering of beverage and dry goods, scheduling oversight, payroll review, and invoice management.
Ability to train and lead a team in a high volume and high-end dining environment

Requirements:
Previous work experience as a Host/Hostess or Maitre’D
Understanding of restaurant etiquette and basic steps of service
Familiarity with health and safety regulations for the jurisdiction in which the venue is located
Experience in managing reservations and special events
Demonstrable customer-service skills and customer retention skills
Excellent communication skills verbally, written, and over the phone
Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining area and administrative tasks
Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift with ease
Love working in a fast paced environment
Be outgoing and social with customers, always providing a perfect experience
Have a fun, positive and pleasant demeanor
High school or college diploma; hospitality certification is a plus, but not required
