The Role:
The Human Resources
Manager oversees all Human Resources activities for all US operations. As the Human
Resources Manager, you will maintain and
enhance the organization's HR’s initiatives by planning, implementing, and
evaluating employee relations, training and development, policies, programs,
and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a liaison between management and
employees to assist in handling all HR related practices.
- Support, oversee and advise on end-to-end employee
relations activities, providing guidance and counsel. Conduct internal
investigations and prepare all required documentation.
- Support and oversee employee onboarding,
orientations and compliance training.
- Ensure full compliance with all employment related
regulations.
- Act as the first point of contact for HR enquiries,
both onsite at SUSHISAMBA Los Angeles and by timely responding to email
enquiries.
- Drive and support the recruitment process, including
but not limited to posting adverts, screening candidates, scheduling and
attending interviews.
- Support the accurate processing of payroll and
tipping for all US locations when required.
- Investigate, rectify and communicate employee pay
queries in a timely manner.
- Draft and communicate accurate employee
documentation, including offer letters, job descriptions and any
additional documentation as required.
- Support and drive the employee
benefits program, including promoting, advising and the administration of
benefits.
- Deliver compensation and benefit comparison
reports and make recommendations to improve the company’s current offering.
- Spearhead the annual performance
review process and identify methods for improvement.
- Provide counsel and guidance to managers and
associates regarding company policies and procedures, performance
standards and performance management to foster a high-performance culture.
- Drive, develop and measure employee engagement by
organizing and promoting company and team events – such as parties, team
building and driving employee welfare.
- Drive and support employee engagement, promoting
SUSHISAMBA as an employer of choice, measure and report on engagement
through surveys, and turnover.
- Oversee HR reporting, including turnover, headcount
and any HR reports as necessary.
- Create and communicate company policies and
standards of practice and monitor compliance.
- Draft and communicate employee announcements
as necessary.
- Ensure full compliance regarding eligibility
requirements, ensuring checks are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensure employee files are complete with
relevant paperwork at all times.
- Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to in
compliance with internal procedures.
- Line manage and provide guidance and support to HR
Assistant.
- Support the implementation of all HR and payroll
platforms and software.
- Have full understanding and working knowledge of California
and Nevada labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Any Ad Hoc duties as reasonably requested.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4 years
of relevant experience supporting staff in a HR Generalist capacity.
- Thorough knowledge of California and Nevada
labor law.
- Knowledge of assisting in developing,
implementing and administering benefit programs, processes and policies.
- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution,
mediation facilitation, and the dynamics of problem-solving and
negotiation.
- Experience implementing Progressive Discipline and
Performance Management systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication
skills.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and
relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated,
able to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision
making
Professional Requirements:
- 4+
years of experience in Human Resources Management
- Knowledge
of HR policies/procedures and best practices
- Bachelor’s
degree
- Proficient
with Microsoft office software; and possess solid general computer, math
and analysis skills
