As the Director of Brand & Category Strategy, you will be the driving force behind Swig Drinks’ growth across multiple day-parts and platforms. You’ll aggregate third-party research, translate insights into actionable brand strategies, and lead new product development initiatives that elevate Swig Drinks to the next level. This is a high-impact role—ideal for someone who views their brand and category as their own business, taking full ownership of vision, results, and team development.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Day-Part & Platform Growth
    • Lead the strategic planning for optimizing brand presence across different day-parts (morning, afternoon, evening) to capture untapped consumer needs and usage occasions.
    • Identify and evaluate platform expansion opportunities—whether through new product lines, packaging innovations, or channel partnerships.
  • Market & Consumer Insights
    • Aggregate and synthesize third-party research (e.g., Technomic) to uncover emerging trends and category white space.
    • Drive data-informed decision-making by translating quantitative and qualitative insights into brand positioning, product roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Brand Strategy & Vision
    • Define, refine, and champion a brand vision that resonates with Swig Drinks’ core mission and captures evolving consumer preferences.
    • Develop long-term growth strategies (2–3 year horizon) while also delivering quick-win initiatives that keep momentum high.
  • Product Development & Innovation
    • Collaborate with R&D, Finance, Supply Chain, and Marketing to conceptualize, test, and launch new products.
    • Oversee end-to-end go-to-market plans, ensuring each product meets brand standards and financial targets.
  • Category Management
    • Monitor category performance, competitor activities, and consumer shifts to propose SKU optimizations and pricing frameworks.
    • Spearhead cross-functional projects that align with category objectives and enhance overall brand equity.
  • Testing & Validation of New Products
    • Plan and conduct pilot programs to validate product concepts prior to full-scale launch, taking a hands-on approach to project management and timeline coordination.
    • Work cross-functionally to gather real-time feedback, measure performance against KPIs, and rapidly refine go-to-market strategies.
    • Provide comprehensive performance updates and actionable insights based on test results, ensuring data-driven decisions guide overall product success.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in brand management, category management, or product development (CPG or beverage experience is a plus).
  • Proven track record of driving consumer-centric strategies that deliver tangible business growth.
  • Strong competency in leveraging third-party research tools and data analytics platforms.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field required; MBA preferred but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and executing pilot programs or testing initiatives, with the ability to interpret data, distill insights, and translate those findings into concrete product enhancements or strategic pivots.
