At KFC, our platform has constantly evolved to make it as easy as possible to order our great chicken.  We brought our development in-house four years ago which has helped to drive collaboration and innovation.  Here at KFC, we empower people to be their best selves, make a difference and have fun.  

Think you can only buy our chicken in-store at our restaurants?!  Think again!  We’ve created a fast, simple omnichannel experience to help people order and get their food in the way that is most convenient to them, whether that be through our app to collect service via the front counter or drive-thru, in-store kiosk integrations, or fully integrated aggregator delivery (Deliveroo, JustEat, UberEats etc) and there’s more to come. 

About the role…

As a UX Designer joining KFC Digital Technology you will support our technical teams working on our live digital products and services where your efforts will directly impact the experience of millions of KFC customers every week.

To keep customer front-of-mind you will also work with our test and learn team in research and experimentation activity, gaining insights and applying your learning back into our digital products and services.

KFC’s digital landscape is constantly evolving and as part of the design team you will also be working to shape what’s next. You will partner with experts in marketing, operations and technology as well as some of the UK’s top agencies to help deliver exciting new digital projects and powerful new features.

Whilst we’re one of the world’s biggest and most loved brands, we’re still a small tech team of around 50 people (and growing!) so it’s a great environment to get exposure to lots of different projects. Everyone gets to contribute and collaborate so you should be comfortable discussing and challenging ideas with other QAs, Developers, Scrum Masters, DevOps Engineers and Designers.

What we’d love from you…

Experience…

• 3 years minimum designing for app, web and interactive UI

• Excellent UI design skills

• Figma to a high level including creating and managing nested components

• Experience in user testing activity (facilitating, writing scripts, interviews, analysis)

• Ability to deliver information architecture, user flows and wireframes to a high standard

• Strong understanding of development for front-end and back-end services (no code necessary)

• Confident in facilitating collaborative design sessions and collaboration

Nice to have…

·       Evidence of working with a large brand on multiple projects from ideation to launch

·       Front end coding experience

·       Motion design for app and web

About You…

We deliver together as a team so are highly collaborative, even when remote, so we’re looking for skills to help further foster this…

·       Familiarity and use of Agile frameworks including Scrum & Kanban

·       Team Player

·       Proactive and not afraid to ask questions or for help when needed

·       Good communication skills (especially verbal)

·       Positive can-do attitude
