Bringing it to the role.

This is a support role within the KFC Tech team based at the RSC in Woking, where you will be responsible for technology standards and set ups in all new restaurant openings (NRO), any Image Enhancements (IEs) and refresher works, as well as working closely with install partners, our internal teams at the RSC and franchisee partners. You will be responsible for supporting your line manager and the new restaurant opening teams to ensure that all new restaurants open without any tech issues across the UK and Ireland.

As part of the wider tech team, you will be involved in not just the support of our new restaurants but in all the key elements of KFC technology. You will be able to work cross functionally with not just the tech team but also all other departments internally within the RSC and externally with franchisees and engineers.

You will be able to drive your own development and build relationships through attending and contributing to key meetings and events gathering feedback and using this to help improve the support we offer to our restaurants and wider estate.

What you’ll do

  • Support of all New KFC restaurants across the UK and Ireland.
  • Support the NRO Technology Manager to ensure tech standards are maintained across all NRO’s, IE’s and refurbishments.
  • Investigation of tech issues identified as part of install or after opening. Including seeing these through to resolution.
  • Support of our franchisee partners in the NRO processes including tech issues and queries.
  • Working closely with our 3rd party installers as well as helping them to resolve on-site issues.
  • Implementation of the Monday.com NRO process
  • Collaborating with a wider Tech Hub team for all NRO back-end set up works
  • Maintaining all installation documentation and standards. Ensuring this is available and being followed by all installers and partners.
  • Work with KFC Tech Hub teams to understand both hardware and software issues that arise as part of any NRO or IE work. Understand any trends and implement improvements. 
  • Attending monthly / periodic reviews with all install partners to drive improvement.
  • Support approval and rollout of future tech equipment / solutions.
  • Onsite reviews of all installation work and report back to install teams on any findings / improvements needed.
  • Participation in the process for future tech equipment releases ensuring support of this equipment is considered and built into the NRO / IE process.
  • Challenging of the norm to provide better processes and support of restaurants on handover / opening / re-opening.
  • Attending restaurant audits with installers to ensure Engineering Standards are being adhered to, this is a collaborative process to highlight any challenges or potential improvements.
  • Work with the development team to ensure the latest standards are communicated to all parties. Ensure restaurant plans include all appropriate equipment, positioned in the most optimal places.

  • Experience of working in a tech function.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Training and on-boarding of new partners / team members.
  • System experience including - MS Teams, O365, Project tools (i.e. Jira, Service Now and Monday.com), Tech system tools (i.e. Kace, Resilio and Beyond Trust)
