As a People Business Partner, covering the Southern region, you will partner and support two Regional Managers to deliver HR initiatives linked to a highly ambitious People Agenda. 

You will play a critical role in supporting the business areas to have the best talent in place to deliver business objectives and ensure we have an engaged, happy and productive workforce. 

In collaboration with the other Business Partners, you will provide support and guidance on all things people, including talent mapping, succession planning, employee relations, performance management, engagement and ensuring delivery of Tenpin’s strategic drivers and HR goals. There will also be the opportunity to engage in exciting People Projects.

Here are some of the key activities you will undertake:

  • Act as a trusted ‘go to’ partner for your region, providing smooth operational support and smart HR advice.
  • Provide a collaborative link between People Team and Centre managers through the provision of high-quality guidance and support in developing and progressing people management solutions to achieve company goals
  • Provide support to the Operations team and line managers on all HR issues such as reward, employee relations, talent, performance, organisation development /change, culture, leadership and learning and development
  • Ensure the smooth delivery of key employee lifecycle events and leverage the data collected from onboarding / offboarding to influence decisions
  • Assist with coaching and empowering managers across the region to be great leaders and equip them with the right skills, resources and tools to succeed
  • Support projects such as organisational design, workforce planning, culture and values
  • Challenge, provoke and coach business managers on how to engage employees and address resulting people issues and build people capabilities effectively
  • Provide support to talent mapping, succession planning and recruitment and selection processes
  • Monitor performance and support the development of all internal talent aligned to retention KPI’s
  • Support and guide the Operations team through the annual appraisal process
  • Conduct HR audits and review compliance with agreed HR and training policies and procedures.
  • Review and give guidance on complex ER issues and be the point of escalation for the region
  • Support organisational change programmes, including TUPE and new centre openings
  • Work alongside the Recruitment Partner and assist in the recruitment process and give guidance to managers as required
  • Undertake on-boarding activities with newly appointed managers where relevant
  • Analyse HR data and suggest recommendations based on results

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience working in a similar role within a multi-site hospitality or retail business would be ideal.
  • Approachable and dedicated individual with a passion for driving business performance.
  • Successful track record within HR, working across the full employee life cycle.
  • Desire to look at fresh issues such as future ways of working.
  • Ability to build and develop strong relationships, being the moral compass for stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the interpersonal skills to interact and influence at all levels.
  • Passionate about coaching people to be the very best version of themselves, and be driven to achieve success.
  • An interest or experience in helping to build initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to colleagues’ wellbeing would also be useful.
  • Must be highly flexible and work to meet the needs of the business.
  • Solutions orientated mindset with the ability to solve problems.
  • Appreciation for confidentiality and integrity.
  • Travel within the geographical region will be a part of the role so flexibility is essential along with the ability to commute to the Support Office in Cranfield (Milton Keynes).
