Banquet Line Cook

Pay Rate: $20-$25 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and efficient Banquet Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will prepare high-volume meals for events such as weddings, corporate functions, and other large-scale banquets while maintaining food safety and presentation standards. This role requires excellent time management, teamwork, and culinary knowledge.

What we would like from you:

  • Prepare and cook menu items for banquet events in accordance with standardized recipes and instructions from the Banquet Chef or Executive Chef.

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies for service.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and tools.

  • Ensure food is prepared and served on time, with proper portion control and attractive presentation.

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team during event service.

  • Assist with plating for buffet lines or plated dinners as needed.

  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures.

  • Assist in breakdown and cleanup after events.

Skills & Conditions:

  • Ability to take direction and work in a team environment and to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized.

  • Ability to physically handle knives and other sharp, heavy, or potentially dangerous items.  

  • Previous banquet or high-volume cooking experience required (1–2 years preferred).

  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.

  • Proper usage and handling of various kitchen machinery, including slicers, ovens, stoves, grinders, mixers, and other kitchen-related equipment. 

  • This position will spend 100% of the time standing. 

  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. 

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. 

  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally. 

  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
