Are you an experienced Hotels & Hospitality General Manager with experience in overseeing the successful running of Restaurants/Bars and/or Accommodation? Are you ready for the challenge of launching new to the market- making your mark, gathering interest and intrigue?

Surya Hotels are recruiting for a Hotel General Manager- to lead the newly refurbished Thatchers Hotel,  in Leatherhead, Surrey.

Leading our team through refurbishment of further rooms and gaining the Hotel's place in the market once again, welcoming back locals and returning guests with a warm and sincere welcome- delivering on our values and 'Ownership with personality'.

Delivering fantastic food, events and fabulously relaxing and inviting stays.

Thatcher’s Hotel is a charming Tudor style property set in the heart of the glorious Surrey countryside. There are 87 guest rooms in total, including double, twin, family and interconnecting rooms. For extra comfort and convenience, Thatcher’s also offers guests the use of free onsite parking, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. With its high-tech facilities and ample parking, Thatcher’s Hotel a great place to do business.

Just under an hour away from London and lying between Guildford and Leatherhead, in the village of East Horsley, Thatcher’s Hotel is the perfect city escape. We are perfectly positioned to explore the many local attractions in the surrounding area.

To be successful as our General Manager you need:

  • Management Experience in a 3/4 * 40+ bedroom hotel OR
  • Phenomenal experience leading Restaurant & Hotel teams- delighting and enhancing guest experience
  • A thirst to drive and improve standards across the Hotel
  • Insight in to local market, specifically aware of opportunities and ways to increase F&B footfall
  • Ability to lead and inspire teams, across a number of divisions, e.g. Restaurant, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Reception
  • Numerical dexterity to crunch the numbers, drive occupancy, ARR and achieve best stock control and ROI
  • Compassion to lead, motivate, inspire and develop your teams- from your housekeeping stars to your back office team and FOH wonders
  • Proven experience being hands on whilst seeing the bigger picture to increase your business
  • Proven ability to work autonomously within an evolving framework
  • Managers are managed against the Hotel P&L, guest feedback, ARR, Occupancy levels, Audits and Team stability

The ideal Hotel General Manager:

· Must have experience within a similar hotel role with site and P&L responsibility

· Strong Hospitality Background, preferably F&B driven experience gained in hotels or high volume restaurants with personality, with proven levels of success

· Excellent management skills, including recruiting, performance managing and leading a team and an exceptional manager

· Commercially astute to monitor and analyse trends and identify opportunities

· Flexible in approach and a ‘Can do, will achieve’ attitude
