We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and proactive individual to join our team as our Night Team Leader at Thatchers Hotel, Guildford. Thatchers Hotel is a charming Tudor-style property set in the heart of the Surrey countryside. Featuring 87 guest rooms, two meeting and function rooms, and a newly refurbished bar and restaurant. 

As a Night Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the hotel operation throughout the night, acting as the main point of contact for guests and team members.
  • Ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of guests, colleagues and hotel property at all times.
  • Conducting regular security, fire safety and property checks, maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • Supervising and supporting the night team, ensuring all nightly duties are completed to a high standard.
  • Overseeing reception operations, including guest check-ins and check-outs, handling enquiries and resolving any guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Completing night audit procedures and preparing reports for the management team.
  • Attending to any incidents that occur during the night and acting as the key contact in the event of emergency services attendance.
  • Ensuring all public areas are presented to a high standard and that housekeeping and maintenance issues are reported appropriately.
  • Coordinating breakfast and early morning preparations to ensure a smooth handover to the day team.
  • Supporting operational departments as required to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
Experience and skills for our Night Team Leader role:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within hospitality is essential.
  • Experience working nights within a hotel environment is highly desirable.
  • Excellent customer service and guest relations skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities with the confidence to make decisions independently.
  • Experience using hotel management and reservation systems would be advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A flexible, professional and calm approach when working under pressure.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
