The Role
The Sous Chef position reports to the Executive Chef and Corporate Executive Chef and will supervise daily operations of the kitchen and staff in accordance with defined food and operations programs to set standards.

The Requirements
As a Sous Chef, we would love you to have:
High School Diploma or equivalent
5 years of related cooking experience
Strong management skills
Team-oriented person
Maintains local health department food handler’s certification up to date and current
A passion for food, an exceptional work ethic, and dedication
Dependability-job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays – REQUIRED
Team player is MUST
Strong task and time management abilities
Ability to stand for extended periods, and lift 40+ lbs.
Maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in difficult situations
Remains calm in high-pressure situations
Able to speak and hear directions in a loud kitchen environment
Valid US work documents

The Restaurant
Opened in the newly renovated 200-plus-year old Broadway Market, The Choptank is a classic fish & crab house, located in the heart of historic Fells Point, serving Maryland’s famous cuisine, highlighted by steamed hard-shell blue crabs. Enjoy a cocktail, crush or one of 20 draft beer selections while listening to live local music 7 nights a week. The Choptank’s spacious patio features an outdoor bar, gas lanterns, games and plenty of seating so you can watch the bustling neighborhood that surrounds you.
