The Arts Club Dubai is perfectly located in the heart of the DIFC, set over four floors and totaling 65,000 square feet, in the brand-new ICD Brookfield Place development designed by Foster + Partners.

It is the first international outpost of the celebrated and historical private members’ club, established in 1863 in Mayfair, London. The Club’s membership is a growing community of like-minded, diverse and dynamic people, all hailing from different cultures and sectors, from the region and further afield.

A Sake Sommelier is responsible for ensuring a smooth running of service at The Arts Club and focusing on delivering the best sake, wine and beverage experience to our Members and guests’ during their dining experience, while taking care that the Club’s highest standards and procedures are adhered to at all times.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

Your main duties and responsibilities are:

  • Assist the Head Sommelier and ensure the sake list is up to date at all times with correct information
  • Ensure correct stock levels are in place before each service
  • Make sure all sake are kept and served at the correct temperature
  • Support the sommelier team for the sake and wine deliveries and ensure all products are stored properly
  • Assist the Head Sommelier with staff training and share sake knowledge and best practices with colleagues.  
  • Assist members with sake selections and provide expert recommendations, including food and sake pairings.  
  • Always recommend the best value for money sake to the guest whilst delivering excellent service.
  • Maintain guest preference records, including favorite sake selections, to enhance the member experience.  
  • Assist in keeping operating costs to a minimum by efficient and responsible use of resources such as glassware and other equipment
  • Be responsible for your own development, e.g. attend trainings and regularly refresh your knowledge 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in same or similar role in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurant
  • Internationally recognised professional certification
  • Excellent level of English, written and spoken
  • Ability to recommend food and sake pairings
  • Have strong organisational and time management skills with a high degree of flexibility
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Demonstrate integrity in all dealings and maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work long shifts and stand for the extended period of time
  • Impeccable manners
