Description

The Position:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team at The Bancroft. The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth and profitable operation of the restaurant, and will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, scheduling, ensuring guest satisfaction, and handling administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the General Manager in managing all aspects of the restaurant, including operations, food and beverage service, and staff management.
  • Ensure that all staff are trained and equipped to deliver high-quality service and maintain a positive guest experience.
  • Manage employee schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels for all shifts and managing labor costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Work with the General Manager to develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Respond to customer complaints and feedback and take appropriate action to address any issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the restaurant to ensure that all operations run smoothly and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or similar role (preferably fine dining).
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and restaurant management software.
  • Craft cocktail, wine, and beer knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 lbs.
