Our Beach Hut Restaurant Manager role:

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring a high standard of guest service & hospitality, food quality, and cleanliness.

You’ll be responsible for leading the restaurant FOH team to drive revenues, control costs, maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, and ensure a seamless guest dining experience aligned with the hotels brand and standards.

Staying true to its roots while embracing the new, the Beach Hut blends classic favourites with a 50% plant-based menu and new sustainable purpose. It’s all about easy beach dining and considered food with an upbeat, warm welcome after embracing the sea breeze outside.

As our Restaurant Manager you’ll be:

  • Maintaining a strong floor presence to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance guest satisfaction
  • Liaising with the Head Chef over seasonal menu changes to ensure a smooth implementation
  • Taking a “hands on” in your approach, being the visible face of the restaurant as much as possible.
  • Taking responsibility for Events in your area ensuring that they are set up in accordance with requirements and run smoothly.
  • Running service in an efficient manner by assigning responsibilities to the floor team and checking their performance.
  • Able to handle guest complaints, requests and enquiries in a professional manner, referring where appropriate to the guest relations manager.
  • Fostering a positive team environment and ensure high morale.
  • Leading the recruitment of team members at all levels
  • Ensuring that team holidays are managed effectively in line with operational business levels
  • Ensuring all team members receive regular, good quality coffee chats and performance reviews, setting smart goals to allow personal developments
  • Ensuring timecards are updated on daily basis and that hours are submitted in a timely manner in accordance with our payroll requirements. 
  • Making sure all employees training is carried out and recorded to the required standards – product knowledge, service standards and hospitality skills
  • Responsible for departmental induction/training & mentoring of all new staff.
  • Ensuring that all team are punctual and that their hours reflect their rota and business levels.
  • Fully aware of the company’s disciplinary procedures and take full responsibility for implementing these procedures fairly and consistently as necessary, in conjunction with our HR manager

The skills you’ll be sharing with us:

  • Supervisory or Assistant Manager experience as a minimum within in a similar setting
  • Proven experience of leading and managing a team
  • A good knowledge of customer care/ complaint handling
  • Barista experience
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate, delegate
  • Coaching and training skills
  • Minimum of Maths and English Grade C or above qualification
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Computer literate
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Confidence in dealing with staff and guests
  • Good Leader
  • Experience in cash handling
  • Care about our team and our environment

It would also be great if you have the following:

  • Cocktail making experience and knowledge
  • Wine knowledge
  • First Aid.
  • Health and Safety.
  • Food hygiene
  • Budgetary/ costing experience
