PURPOSE OF JOB:

As a general manager of a pub, your role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the establishment and ensure its smooth functioning.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-          Staff Management: Hiring, training, disciplinaries, scheduling, and supervising the pub's staff members, including bartenders, servers, kitchen staff, and security personnel. You will need to ensure proper staffing levels, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to the team.

 

-          Customer Service: Maintaining a high level of customer service and ensuring that patrons have a positive experience. This involves resolving customer complaints or issues, addressing any concerns, and ensuring that the pub provides a welcoming and friendly environment.

 

 

-          Operations Management: Overseeing the overall operations of the pub, which includes managing inventory, ordering supplies, and coordinating with vendors. You will need to monitor and control costs, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintain cleanliness and maintenance standards.

 

-          Financial Management: Managing the pub's finances, including budgeting, tracking expenses, and maximizing revenue. This may involve analysing sales data, implementing pricing strategies, and identifying opportunities to increase profitability.

 

 

-          Menu Planning and Inventory Control: Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop menus and specials, ensuring that they align with customer preferences and seasonal availability. You will also need to monitor inventory levels, control food and beverage costs, and minimize wastage.

 

-          Marketing and Promotions: Collaborating with the marketing team in developing and implementing marketing strategies to attract customers and increase the pub's visibility. This may involve organizing special events, live entertainment, or themed nights, as well as utilizing social media and other advertising channels.

 

-          Compliance and Licensing: Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal and licensing requirements, such as obtaining and renewing permits, adhering to alcohol licensing laws, and maintaining necessary certifications.

 

-          Business Development: Identifying opportunities for business growth, such as expanding the pub's offerings, attracting new customer segments, or establishing partnerships with local businesses.
