Assistant Manager – The Brabazon
Are you looking for your next step in your Bar Management career? The Belfry Hotel & Resort has a new opportunity an Assistant Bar Manager to join our team in the Brabazon Bar. Ideally you will have at least three years’ experience working in a hotel lounge bar or high end high street restaurant who has a focus on cocktails. You will have been an Assistant Manager already or a supervisor with at least three years’ experience. This is a great opportunity to work alongside our management team in one of the busiest hotel bars in the West Midlands, we will equip you with a great understanding of how to manage a high volume bar and hone your management skills to ensure you are a great leader.

Your new department
The Brabazon Bar is the heart of our resort, it flows seamlessly from our Foyer and Reception areas making it the ideal meeting place. The Brabazon Bar is a versatile space and lends its self to business meetings in the day with guest able to order light lunches, coffees and round off successful deals with a premium beer, glass of champagne or hand crafted cocktails.
What your day will look like
As the Assistant Manager you will assume full responsibility for the outlet and its success in your manager’s absence, you will think of new and exciting avenues to explore maximising revenue and ultimately keep the Brabazon Bar ahead of our competitors. A natural flare for people management you will be able to train, motivate and develop the team into their next roles giving the resort a strong pipe line of talent. Alongside your daily duties you will manage other outlets when needed in the absence of their manager and assume resort responsibilities including duty manager shifts.
Duties of the role
- Ensuring your shifts are run in a professional manner through delegating, problem solving and exceptional service delivery.
You will work with the team, leading them through a busy shift.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, handle guest complaints and recover the guest’s expectations when needed.
- Work as a team throughout the resort, providing support to other departments when required.
- Open and Closing responsibilities, rota planning, team training and development will be a key responsibility for you.
- Managing shifts on your own and assuming responsibility for the unit in your manager’s absence.
- The bar Assistant Manager will have responsibility for delivering the bar in a 5 star condition on hygiene and cleanliness to
maintain our scores on the doors
- Meeting with the hotels Health and Safety standards at all times to protect yourself, our guests and our team.
- You will take ownership of managerial tasks as delegated to you by your line managers
- Develop relationships around the resort to ensure your personal progression
Working Hours & Holiday Entitlement
45 Hour Contract, your working week will be five days out of seven including some evenings and weekends
Monday – Sunday 07.00 – 04.00 AM Approximately
Holiday entitlement – 28 days which rises to 31 after two calendar years and 33 after five calendar years’ service
