Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sous Chef to join our team!

We need you to lead our small but mighty kitchen team at The Breakfast Club, Chelmsford. As senior support you will act as second in command, ensuring the professional and commercial success of the kitchen is delivered to The Breakfast Club standard.

You will be a positive influence in our kitchen, supporting the Head Chef to deliver the Nation’s Best Loved Caf, while generating a culture of loyalty, opportunity, and support.

You’ll be part of a close-knit, supportive, and dynamic team. You will influence the standard of food we deliver, the environment our food is prepared in and the financial results that allow us to grow.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead By Example: Support your Head Chef to manage lead your team and take full responsibility of your kitchen and team in the Head Chefs absence.
  • Opening and Closing Duties: Complete opening and closing duties accordingly each day.
  • Food Preparation and Cleaning Kitchen: Assist with food prep and help maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Training Delivery: Help train and develop the current team and any new team members.
  • Stock Control & Efficiency: Manage stock effectively to maintain efficiency and meet cost of goods and wastage management targets.
  • Labour Controls: Manager smart rotas – reactively edit rotas where necessary to meet targets and plan accordingly for quieter and busier periods.
  • Food Safety and Health and Safety: Maintain a consistently safe working environment by ensuring our kitchens are safe and compliant.
