Description

About The Conduit

The Conduit is a collaborative community of people committed to social, environmental, and economic progress. Through our platform—spanning convenings, content, and capital—we bring together change-makers across sectors to solve the world’s most urgent challenges.

As we expand from London to New York, we are building a new home for cross-sector connection, practical solutions, and catalytic partnerships in the U.S.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial Director of Programs & Partnerships to serve as a key deputy to the Chief Impact Officer in building the foundation of The Conduit’s presence in New York—and leading the charge as we grow toward a permanent club.

This is a mid-level leadership role for someone who has successfully driven revenue-generating partnerships and curated impactful programming in the social or public sector. You will play a key role in shaping how The Conduit shows up in the U.S. market—activating our annual Solutions Agenda, curating relevant programming, and cultivating mission-aligned partnerships that fund and extend our impact. The ideal candidate will bring both strategy and execution: shaping the NYC programming calendar, leading outreach and proposals for funders and partners, and ensuring our efforts translate into real-world engagement, influence, and income.

You will report into the Chief Impact Officer and work closely with the global partnerships and programs teams in London, while helping shape a uniquely New York identity for The Conduit’s work.

Key Responsibilities

NYC Programming Strategy & Activation

  • Translate the annual Solutions Agenda into programming that resonates with New York–based audiences and institutional partners.
  • Co-develop and lead a strategic programming calendar for NYC aligned with our global Solutions Agenda and tailored to U.S. audiences.
  • Shape and execute salons, roundtables, field visits, and activations that elevate The Conduit’s visibility and position us as a hub for impact leadership in NYC.
  • Ensure all activations serve multiple goals: community-building, thought leadership, strategic partnerships, and storytelling.

Strategic Partnerships & Revenue Generation

  • Identify, develop, and steward funded partnerships with foundations, brands, and mission-aligned organizations to underwrite content, programming, and campaigns.
  • Lead the creation of concept notes, proposals, and pitch materials, articulating compelling partnership opportunities with a strong sense of value alignment and delivery feasibility.
  • Collaborate with the London-based Partnerships team to align strategy, share pipeline development, and maintain consistency across markets.

Stakeholder Engagement & Network Building

  • Serve as a deputy to the Chief Impact Officer, helping extend her reach by supporting the cultivation and engagement of key NYC stakeholders —who are critical to The Conduit’s success.
  • Leverage and build on The Conduit’s existing relationship base and stakeholder master list—enhancing our network of funders, civic leaders, institutional allies, and content collaborators.
  • Support engagement with our New York Advisory Board, keeping them activated, informed, and meaningfully involved in our local growth.
  • Support strategic community-building efforts to deepen relationships with values aligned individuals and organizations, including members and prospective members.
  • Where helpful and appropriate, build relationships with local government, public sector leaders, and civic conveners to support long-term expansion.

Program Design & Delivery

  • Co-design convening, content, and impact collaborations with philanthropic partners, companies, and NGOs that drive systemic change.
  • Translate ideas and partner scopes into clear plans, budgets, timelines, and deliverables, working cross-functionally with Programs, Editorial, and Operations teams.
  • Ensure high-quality execution of NYC-based events, projects, and partner deliverables that reflect The Conduit’s standards and mission.

Growth & Learning

  • Track performance, partner feedback, and audience engagement to generate insights that strengthen future programming and fundraising efforts.
  • Help refine and evolve our NYC engagement model as we test formats, build our local presence, and lay the groundwork for a future Conduit Club in New York.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

  • 8-10 years experience in program development, partnerships, or fundraising, ideally within a mission-driven setting such as a nonprofit, foundation, membership organization, or convening platform.
  • Demonstrated success in designing and executing partnerships and programming that generate both impact and revenue; Proven track record of raising revenue through partnerships (corporates, foundations, or high-net-worth supporters).
  • Direct experience working with a range of funders, including foundations, corporates, and high-net-worth individuals, , with the judgment to tailor engagement accordingly.
  • Strong working knowledge of and/or lived experience within the New York City social impact ecosystem, with confidence navigating cross-sector relationships.
  • Track record of cross-functional collaboration and translating complex ideas into real-world outcomes.

Skills & Attributes

  • Highly organized, proactive, and energized by building from the ground up.
  • Excellent communicator—confident crafting proposals, shaping narratives, and managing relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution skills—able to move from big-picture vision to detailed action plans.
  • Collaborative, curious, and entrepreneurial—you like building something new and know how to bring others with you.
  • Strong network and/or working knowledge of the U.S. impact landscape (climate, equity, technology for good, philanthropy, etc.).
  • A belief in the power of convening and community.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a start-up or scaling environment
  • Event or experiential storytelling experience
  • Familiarity with The Conduit’s model or similar membership/convener platforms
