Description

Company Overview

The Conduit is a London-based members club and home for people passionate about achieving positive social, environmental and economic change. Our community -- comprised of changemakers across business, philanthropy, government and civil society -- shares a belief that the world’s most pressing problems are better understood as opportunities waiting for entrepreneurial solutions. From our vibrant club in Covent Garden, we curate catalytic events, publish bold ideas, and spark the collaborations that turn ambition into impact. We don’t just host conversations—we help make change happen.

Role Summary

The Conduit is seeking a mission-driven, results-oriented Head of Marketing to lead our integrated growth marketing strategy. This pivotal role will drive customer acquisition across all Conduit products—including memberships, conferences and content offerings—with a specific emphasis on driving monthly and annual new member growth.

Reporting to the Chief Brand Officer, this leader will oversee a lean but high-impact marketing function. They will be responsible for both strategy and execution, blending creative thinking with data-driven decision-making, and leveraging a mix of internal resources, external vendors, and modern technologies (including AI tools) to maximize reach and results.

 Key Responsibilities

Growth & Acquisition Strategy

  • Own and execute customer acquisition strategies across all Conduit products, including paid, organic, referral, and partnership channels.
  • Develop campaigns that reflect the unique motivations of our ideal customer personas (corporate leaders, nonprofit executives, funders, entrepreneurs, etc.).
  • Plan and manage monthly marketing campaigns aligned to major product and programming milestones (e.g., new membership offers, major events).
  • Track and optimize performance across the full funnel, from awareness to conversion.

Channel & Vendor Management

  • Manage or directly execute SEO/SEM/CPC strategies; oversee vendor performance and optimize ROI.
  • Lead organic social growth strategies across Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and emerging platforms—via in-house team or external partners.
  • Evaluate new marketing channels, partnerships, and tools to expand reach and reduce CAC.
  • Ensure efficient coordination across freelance creatives, media buyers, and other third-party vendors.

Content & Creative Collaboration

  • Partner with Editorial and Brand Creative teams to develop all assets for campaigns and channel-specific growth.
  • Translate brand-level storytelling into performance-driven messaging, landing pages, and content sequences.
  • Ensure consistent narrative and tone across digital touchpoints, while tailoring to audience needs by segment.

Marketing Operations & Systems

  • Own the Conduit-wide Marketing & Comms calendar, including publishing schedules across email, social, paid, and owned platforms.
  • Design and maintain systems for campaign tracking, task delegation, and asset management.
  • Create and manage performance dashboards to track member acquisition, channel performance, and campaign effectiveness.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Lead regular reporting on marketing KPIs, campaign effectiveness, and membership growth to key stakeholders.
  • Build a culture of testing, learning, and optimization across campaigns.
  • Identify trends and insights to improve creative execution, channel mix, and customer journeys.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Member Engagement team to align acquisition efforts with onboarding and retention goals.
  • Collaborate with Programming and Partnerships on co-branded events, referral strategies, and affiliate marketing.
  • Serve as a key advisor to the Chief Brand Officer and executive team on go-to-market strategy and brand growth.

Skills & Experience

  • 7-10 years in marketing leadership roles, preferably within a purpose-driven, membership-based, or content-rich organization.
  • Proven track record of building and executing performance marketing strategies with a mix of creativity and analytics.
  • Experience in high-consideration products or community brands with long lead times and value-based conversion paths.
  • Demonstrated success managing external vendors, agencies, and contractors while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Strong grasp of growth marketing tools and technologies, including analytics platforms, CRM, ad managers, and AI-powered content tools.
  • Excellent project management and systems thinking skills; capable of building repeatable processes and scalable campaigns.
  • Passionate about social and environmental impact; deeply understands the values, behaviours, and drivers of The Conduit’s member community.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to London.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment with lean teams.
  • Familiarity with community-based marketing, thought leadership content, and B2B2C business models.
  • Experience in building a membership-based business
  • Demonstrated ability to align teams around shared KPIs and lead with both inspiration and accountability.

This is a high-impact leadership role for a creative strategist and systems thinker who is equally comfortable in a brainstorm, a spreadsheet, or a boardroom. If you’re excited about growing a global platform for social change leaders, we’d love to hear from you.
