Role Summary
The AV & IT Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless delivery of all technical services within The Conduit, with a primary focus on AV operations (80%) and supplementary IT systems support (20%). This is a hands-on position requiring expertise in AV setup for events, live music, and meetings, while also providing foundational IT assistance for day-to-day operations.
The role involves working closely with event producers, performers, internal teams, and external providers to maintain high standards across both AV and IT systems, ensuring exceptional member and guest experiences in a dynamic hospitality environment.
Responsibilities & Key Duties:
AV Operations (80%)
Meeting Room & Event AV Support
· Lead AV setup and technical support for all meetings, events, talks, and hybrid sessions.
· Configure and troubleshoot video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams).
· Ensure smooth operation of displays, microphones, cameras, and sound systems.
· Provide real-time troubleshooting during live events to ensure professional delivery.
Live Music & Performance Support
· Manage AV requirements for live music, DJ sets, and other performances.
· Handle PA systems, mixing desks, microphones, monitors, and backline equipment.
· Conduct sound checks and live mixing for FOH and stage monitoring.
· Coordinate with artists and event producers to meet technical and timing needs.
AV Equipment Maintenance
· Maintain an inventory of all AV equipment and ensure regular servicing.
· Plan and implement upgrades or replacements for AV systems.
· Develop and execute maintenance schedules to prevent downtime.
IT Operations (20%)
IT Support & Infrastructure
· Provide first-line IT support for staff, including troubleshooting hardware, network, and software issues.
· Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes, including account setup and hardware provisioning.
· Liaise with external IT providers to ensure smooth operation of core systems (Wi-Fi, POS, booking tools).
IT Equipment Asset Management
· Maintain accurate records of IT equipment inventory, including allocation, lifecycle tracking, and condition monitoring.
· Oversee equipment deployment, returns, and replacement cycles.
· Coordinate repairs and disposal of outdated hardware following compliance guidelines.
IT Governance & Security
· Support adherence to IT security policies and best practices.
· Maintain accurate documentation for system access, hardware allocation, and compliance checks.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Essential:
· 3–5 years’ experience in AV operations with exposure to IT systems support.
· Strong working knowledge of AV technology: PA systems, mixers, microphones, projectors, live sound.
· Hands-on experience in hybrid event setups using Zoom, Teams, or similar platforms.
· Familiarity with IT basics: troubleshooting, network configuration, hardware setup.
· Ability to stay calm and adapt during high-pressure, live-event environments.
Desirable:
· Experience in hospitality or events-based settings such as private members’ clubs, venues, or hotels.
· Knowledge of POS systems, booking platforms, or similar operational software.
· Relevant certifications (AVIXA CTS, CompTIA, Microsoft Certified, etc.).
