Description

The historic Culver Hotel is seeking an On-Call Banquet Bartender. The Banquet Bartender is responsible for friendly and efficient service and completion of banquet meals and events. This position requires extensive interaction with both banquet colleagues and clients throughout their events. 

Job Overview
The Banquet Bartender plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of events hosted by our hotel. Reporting directly to the Banquet Manager, the Banquet Bartender is responsible for crafting exceptional cocktails, providing excellent service to guests, and assisting with the setup and breakdown of banquet spaces.  

Responsibilities

  • Mixology Excellence: Craft a wide range of cocktails with precision and creativity, ensuring that each drink meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. 
  • Guest Satisfaction: Provide friendly and attentive service to guests, anticipating their needs and ensuring they have a memorable experience during events.
  • Setup and Breakdown: Assist with the setup of banquet spaces, including arranging furniture, setting up bars, and ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked. Assist with breakdown and cleanup at the conclusion of events. 
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory of bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, garnishes, and glassware. Replenish supplies as needed and notify management of any low stock levels. 
  • Compliance: Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as hotel policies and procedures. Ensure responsible alcohol service at all times. 
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other banquet staff, including servers, chefs, and event coordinators, to ensure seamless execution of events. 
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with guests in a professional and courteous manner, providing recommendations, answering questions, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. 
  • Flexibility: Be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate the demands of event scheduling. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a bartender in a banquet or hospitality setting is preferred. 
  • Extensive knowledge of cocktails, spirits, and wine. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure. 
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. 
  • Must be of legal drinking age and hold any required certifications for alcohol service in the designated area. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). 
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent bending, stooping, and reaching. 
  • Comfortable working in varied temperature conditions, including both indoor and outdoor settings.
