What you'll do 

As a Spa Receptionist at The Dorchester, you will be the first point of contact for our guests seeking relaxation, wellness, and exceptional care. You will ensure each visit begins and ends with a warm, professional interaction that reflects our commitment to five-star service. In this role, you will:

  • Manage spa appointments throughout the day, including scheduling, modifying, and confirming bookings with accuracy and care.

  • Provide a gracious welcome and fond farewell, ensuring guests feel valued from the moment they arrive.

  • Carry out spa show rounds, introducing guests to the spa environment, explaining services, and promoting treatments that best meet their needs.

  • Follow opening and closing procedures, including system shutdown, daily financial balancing, and accurate cashing up.

  • Fulfil special requests from guests such as pairing them with their preferred therapist, adjusting treatment sequences to suit medical needs, or arranging personalised touches for special occasions.

  • Liaise with the spa team to ensure smooth service delivery, making sure guest information is communicated clearly and respectfully.

Your attention to detail and intuitive understanding of guest needs will help create an experience that is seamless, restorative, and truly memorable.

What you'll bring 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a spa or luxury hospitality reception role.

  • Proficiency in a spa booking system (e.g., Premier Spa, Zenoti, MindBody, or similar).

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to remain calm, polite, and professional under pressure, particularly during peak periods.

  • Strong sense of discretion, sensitivity, and service when handling guest needs.

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, for confident communication with guests and colleagues.

Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with spa treatments, terminology, and luxury wellness environments.

  • Previous experience handling daily balancing and cashing up procedures.

  • Confident in upselling spa services and retail products in a subtle and service-driven manner.

  • An interest in wellness and beauty services, with the ability to build rapport with returning clients.
