OUR HOTEL 

Located within The Edinburgh Grand, Lady Libertine is a stylish, two-level cocktail bar and restaurant with a bold personality. The concept includes a relaxed café and wine bar at street level, and a vibrant, design-led cocktail bar in the basement featuring a mezzanine and a private “Vault” function room. The venue offers all-day dining, seasonally inspired sharing plates, and an energetic drinks and entertainment programme, with live DJs and events on weekends.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BAR MANAGER AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

  • Lead the bar team in delivering exceptional service and memorable drink experiences, ensuring every guest receives a warm and personalised welcome.
  • Oversee the day-to-day running of the bar, ensuring smooth operations, efficient service, and consistently high standards.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop the bar team through effective leadership, training, and support, creating a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Oversee stock control, ordering, and wastage, monitoring costs and identifying opportunities to maximise revenue.
  • Maintain the highest standards of bar presentation, cleanliness, and organisation, ensuring compliance with health and safety and licensing requirements.
  • Monitor guest feedback and service quality, resolving concerns professionally while working closely with the wider food and beverage team.
  • Oversee rotas, team deployment, and daily operational requirements, ensuring the bar is fully prepared to deliver an outstanding guest experience.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Previous experience in a bar leadership or supervisory role, with the confidence to lead a team in a hospitality environment.
  • A passion for creating exceptional drink experiences, with strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, and other beverages.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop colleagues.
  • Strong organisational skills and commercial awareness, with an understanding of stock control, cost management, and revenue generation.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service, presentation, and cleanliness.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions, and resolve guest concerns professionally.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and a commitment to making every guest feel welcome, valued, and well cared for.
