A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE ENGINEER AT OUR HOTEL
As a key member of the maintenance team, you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping our hotels running smoothly and safely—making sure every space, system, and service is operating at its best.
Carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house, ensuring a high standard of functionality, safety, and appearance
Respond quickly and efficiently to repair requests, resolving issues to minimise disruption and maintain a positive guest experience
Support the Chief Engineer in delivering a proactive preventative maintenance programme, helping to extend the life of equipment and facilities
Work collaboratively with other departments to identify and resolve maintenance issues, including support for refurbishments, room resets, or emergency situations
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, conducting routine checks and reporting any hazards or faults
Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any follow-up actions required
Take pride in your surroundings, contributing to a clean, well-maintained hotel environment inside and out
Bring a can-do attitude to every task—no job too big, no detail too small
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering role, ideally within a hotel or similar environment
Practical knowledge of one or more trades—plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting/decorating, or general repairs
A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to think on your feet
Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as required
Good communication and teamwork skills—you're dependable, approachable, and take pride in doing a job well
An understanding of health and safety procedures and a commitment to working safely at all times
