A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE ENGINEER AT OUR HOTEL

As a key member of the maintenance team, you’ll play a hands-on role in keeping our hotels running smoothly and safely—making sure every space, system, and service is operating at its best.

  • Carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house, ensuring a high standard of functionality, safety, and appearance

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to repair requests, resolving issues to minimise disruption and maintain a positive guest experience

  • Support the Chief Engineer in delivering a proactive preventative maintenance programme, helping to extend the life of equipment and facilities

  • Work collaboratively with other departments to identify and resolve maintenance issues, including support for refurbishments, room resets, or emergency situations

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, conducting routine checks and reporting any hazards or faults

  • Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any follow-up actions required

  • Take pride in your surroundings, contributing to a clean, well-maintained hotel environment inside and out

  • Bring a can-do attitude to every task—no job too big, no detail too small

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Previous experience in a maintenance or engineering role, ideally within a hotel or similar environment

  • Practical knowledge of one or more trades—plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting/decorating, or general repairs

  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to think on your feet

  • Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts as required

  • Good communication and teamwork skills—you're dependable, approachable, and take pride in doing a job well

  • An understanding of health and safety procedures and a commitment to working safely at all times
