A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MULTI-SKILLED ENGINEER AT OUR HOTEL 

  • Begin the shift by reviewing the maintenance log and prioritising tasks for the day. 
  • Carry out inspections and servicing of key infrastructure such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and generators. 
  • Respond promptly to guest service requests and address maintenance issues in guest rooms and public areas to ensure guest satisfaction. 
  • Diagnose and repair faults efficiently to minimise downtime and disruption to hotel operations. 
  • Collaborate with housekeeping, front office, and other operational departments to coordinate repairs and ensure seamless service delivery. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work completed, materials used, and equipment service schedules. 
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and workspaces are clean, safe, and compliant with health and safety standards. 
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and attend to urgent maintenance issues outside of regular working hours when required. 
  • Continuously uphold the hotel's safety, security, and operational standards through proactive maintenance and attention to detail. 

  • WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU 

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or Multi-Skilled Engineer, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment. 
  • Experience in one or more trades. 
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across a range of building systems. 
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and support guest satisfaction. 
  • Willingness and flexibility to work on a rotating shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. 
  • Basic understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) is desirable. • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and the ability to carry out risk assessments.
  • Comfortable with physically demanding tasks, including lifting
  • Computer literacy for logging maintenance tasks and using digital reporting systems. 
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance emergencies.
