Preparation Cook Job Posting

The Role

The Preparation Cook’s primary responsibility is basic food preparation tasks such as cutting meats, fish, cleaning, peeling, slicing, chopping, measuring and mixing ingredients. Our preparation cooks, work neatly and cleanly, and have the ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.

The Requirements

As a Preparation Cook, we would love you to have:

At least 1 year of related cooking experience
Maintains local health department food handler’s certification up to date and current
Knowledge and passion for italian food
Able to perform in a team serving environment
Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays – REQUIRED
High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred
Ability to stand during entire shift
Ability to stand for extended periods, and lift 40+ lbs


The Restaurant

The Elk Room is Atlas Restaurant Group’s speakeasy-style cocktail bar located in Baltimore’s Harbor East neighborhood. Featuring inventive cocktails crafted by bar manager Andrew Nichols such as the Fool’s Gold and the Skull & Bones. The Elk Room pairs its cocktails with a whimsical menu of crave-able bar snacks such as tacos, wild boar nachos, venison tartare and rabbit corn dogs by Tagliata’s executive chef Julian Marucci.
