Pub Manager – The Flying Stag

The Fife Arms, an award-winning 5-star hotel in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, is seeking an experienced and inspiring Pub Manager to lead The Flying Stag—our vibrant and much-loved Scottish pub.

Recognised with the prestigious Condé Nast Traveler Triple Crown and awarded Two Michelin Keys, The Fife Arms is a unique destination where exceptional hospitality, art, culture, and community come together to create unforgettable experiences.

The Role

As Pub Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation of The Flying Stag, leading a high-performing front-of-house team to deliver warm, authentic hospitality and memorable guest experiences.

You will be a confident and visible leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, inspires those around you, and creates a culture of excellence, development, and teamwork. Working closely with your team and wider hotel colleagues, you will ensure exceptional service standards are consistently achieved while supporting the commercial success of the venue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the Flying Stag front-of-house team
  • Deliver exceptional service standards and memorable guest experiences
  • Support the recruitment, training, coaching, and mentoring of team members
  • Drive operational excellence and ensure the smooth running of daily service
  • Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and compliance throughout the venue
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture
  • Work closely with kitchen and hotel teams to deliver a seamless guest journey
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, food safety, and COSHH requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous management experience within a quality hospitality environment
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Experience training, coaching, and developing teams
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Excellent emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills
  • A thorough understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
  • The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • A commitment to the standards expected within a luxury hospitality environment
  • Enthusiasm, energy, and a desire to continually learn and grow
