At The George Hotel, Colchester, we're searching for a talented and motivated Commis Chef who is passionate about great food and takes pride in exceptional presentation and quality. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic kitchen team

The George Hotel, located on Colchester High Street in Essex, has been at the heart of England's oldest recorded town for over 500 years. The hotel offers 49 heritage rooms and suits, alongside 44 contemporary rooms in St Nicholas. From our vibrant bar and restaurant to our recently opened Sip in Secret bar, no two days are the same, providing plenty of variety and opportunities to grow as a Commis Chef.
As a Commis Chef you will:
- Prepare fresh ingredients to the high standards set by our Head Chef
- Maintain excellent hygiene and health & safety standards at all times
- Support the day‑to‑day running of a busy, well‑organised kitchen
- Learn to run and support different sections across the kitchen as you grow in the role
