We’re looking for a Restaurant & Bar Team Member that bring energy, curiosity and a can-do spirit. Someone who loves the buzz of service and the joy of making someone’s day.
The George Hotel, located on Colchester High Street in Essex, has been at the heart of England’s oldest recorded town for over 500 years. The hotel offers 49 heritage rooms and suites, alongside 44 contemporary bedrooms in St Nicholas’ House, and features a welcoming restaurant and bar for guests and locals to enjoy.
How you'll bring the magic to the floor being part our Restaurant & Bar Team Member:
- Has a positive, can‑do attitude towards customers and other team.
- A genuine enthusiasm for learning about all things food and drink — including spirits, wines, cocktails, and delivering the “perfect serve”.
- A willingness to understand different food styles and service standards, learn the menus, and confidently explain dishes to customers.
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment of interacting with guests in a lively, fast‑paced environment.
- The ability to deliver great service — taking orders, serving food and drink, processing payments, and ensuring every guest has an excellent experience.
- Commitment to meeting site service standards and working effectively as part of the team.
- A developing or good understanding of preparing coffees and serving alcohol and wine in both bar and restaurant settings.
- Availability to work opening and closing shifts, including weekends and bank holidays on a pro‑rata basis.
- A willingness to continue your development through in‑house and external training sessions.
- Helping with events, functions and other F&B requirements
- Tronc - TIPS !!
