Food Runner, Glass Collector & Bar Back – Part Time
£12.71 per hour + staff perks | Minimum age 17 | driving licence required

About us

We're looking for energetic, reliable team members to keep our pub running smoothly front and back of house. If you're quick on your feet, love being part of a busy team, and want to get a real feel for how a quality pub operates, this role is a brilliant place to start.

Tucked away by the canal at Bulbourne, just outside Tring, The Grand Junction Arms is a destination for those who love proper pubs. With vast gardens, outdoor bar and a kitchen serving fresh, seasonal menus cooked to order, we get busy — and that means every member of the team counts. You'll be working across the floor, bar and outdoor spaces, keeping everything moving so our guests always have what they need.

This is your chance to join a growing independent pub group, be part of a supportive team, and develop your career in hospitality from day one.

What's in it for you

  • Pay: £12.71/hr
  • Perks: 50% off food & 20% off drinks across the group, 28 days holiday (pro rata), team socials and staff events
  • Training: On-the-job training across floor and bar operations, with e-learning through AllGravy and development support via Trail App
  • Career path: A natural stepping stone into bar or floor team roles for those who want to progress

What you'll be doing

  • Running food from the kitchen pass to the correct tables quickly and accurately
  • Offering guests excellent service, and ensuring they're enjoying their visit
  • Communicating clearly with the kitchen and front of house team throughout service
  • Collecting and returning glassware from the bar, floor and outdoor areas
  • Keeping bar and floor areas clean, stocked and guest-ready throughout the shift
  • Supporting the bar team with restocking, fridges, ice and prep during busy periods
  • Assisting with set-up and breakdown of the pub before and after service
  • Helping with deliveries and moving stock as required

What we're looking for

  • Minimum age 17
  • Full UK driving licence required, (you may be reuqired to work at our other nearby venues)
  • High energy and the ability to work at pace without losing attention to detail
  • A team player who communicates well and takes pride in doing their job properly
  • Reliable, punctual and well-presented
  • Positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends

No experience necessary — we'll train the right person. What matters most is attitude.

This is your chance to get stuck in with a brilliant team and build your hospitality career with a small but ambitious independent pub group.

Apply today and join the team.
