What you'll do 

As a Restaurant Supervisor at The Grill, you will take a leading role in orchestrating the daily rhythm of one of London’s most iconic dining destinations. You will be a motivating presence on the floor, guiding your team to deliver consistently exceptional service while supporting the Restaurant Manager with the operational and administrative responsibilities that keep service running seamlessly. In this role, you will:

  • Lead and supervise the Waiters and Head Waiters throughout service, offering hands-on support, feedback, and guidance to ensure high standards of hospitality and professionalism.

  • Prepare and deliver pre-service briefings, ensuring the team is aligned with daily priorities, guest profiles, and service expectations.

  • Oversee your own section, managing guest interactions from welcome through to farewell, while ensuring orders are taken and delivered with elegance and efficiency.

  • Support in opening and closing procedures, including setting the dining room, completing reports, and overseeing cleanliness and readiness.

  • Handle cashing up, administrative tasks, and assist the Restaurant Manager with reporting and scheduling when required.

  • Take initiative in responding to guest special requests, feedback, or service challenges, showing composure, creativity, and dedication to excellence.

  • Collaborate with the kitchen, sommelier team, and restaurant leadership to ensure synchronised service and guest satisfaction throughout the dining journey.

What you'll bring 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a fine dining restaurant or luxury hospitality setting.

  • Natural ability to lead, motivate, and develop a service team with professionalism and poise.

  • Understanding of restaurant systems, including order taking, POS operation, and guest handling.

  • High standards of personal grooming and professional communication, with a guest-first mindset.

  • Fluent in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Experiences 

  • Experience in supporting restaurant administration, such as scheduling, reporting, and cash handling.

  • Knowledge of wine and beverage service, with a passion for food culture and guest experience.

  • Confidence in guiding teams through pre-service briefings, service sequences, and performance expectations.

  • A calm and diplomatic approach to resolving service issues, guest feedback, or operational challenges.
