About The Groucho Club

The Groucho exists to keep Soho’s artistic, liberal spirit burning bright, and to champion London’s role as a creative powerhouse on the world stage. A joyful, generous and welcoming space for ideas, creative life and the occasional late night.

Born in 1985 as the antidote to the cloistered gentlemen’s clubs of London’s Mayfair, The Groucho Club was founded on a  radical idea: that good company is the kind chosen by ideas rather than status, that emerging voices belong in the same room as established ones, and that culture is made through conversation, collision and curiosity.

Forty years on, that belief still drives everything we do. We exist to facilitate the conversations that shape culture now and next, to back the people making it, and to keep Soho generous, welcoming and alive to creative possibility. We host, we don’t serve.

Members and guests are people we know, not names on a list.

Bartender / Mixologist

We are on the lookout for a bartender with flair, someone who doesn’t just make drinks, but crafts moments. We want a true mixologist who combines technical finesse with a radiant, welcoming energy, the kind that makes members feel at home the moment they step up to the bar.

This role is all about hosting, engaging, and creating magic in every pour. The perfect candidate brings a can-do attitude, a spark of personality, and an instinct for turning simple ingredients into something memorable.

Why is this so important? because every cocktail, every smile, every detail behind the bar shapes the experience of our members. And here at the Groucho Club, that experience is everything, it’s what makes our space unique, buzzing, and unforgettable.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ensuring every drink that leaves your bar is beautifully balanced, impeccably presented, and worthy of the Club.
  • From a perfectly poised Martini to a deeply satisfying Old Fashioned, you’ll prepare a wide repertoire of cocktails in line with Club guidelines, each one made with care and consistency.
  • Bringing fresh ideas to the menu with innovative, well-considered cocktails that excite and delight our members.
  • Setting up and maintaining immaculate service stations, ensuring the bar is fully stocked, polished, and ready for every service, because the magic is always in the preparation.
  • Managing daily F&B requisitions thoughtfully and accurately, maintaining par levels so service never misses a beat.
  • Delivering service with style, fast, efficient, and seamless, whether serving members directly or supporting the wider team.
  • Hosting with warmth, making food and drink orders in a friendly, confident, and professional manner that makes every member feel welcome and looked after.
  • Closing with carepresenting bills clearly and correctly, even when service is declined, because grace matters at every stage of the experience.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • At least two year’s experience behind a busy bar, you understand the rhythm, the pace, and the quiet choreography that makes great service feel effortless.
  • Confident cocktail knowledge, you’re comfortable preparing a wide range of drinks with consistency and care.
  • Polished, personable, and naturally engaging, you take pride in your presentation and have a warmth that draws people in.
  • A true host, you instinctively understand that exceptional service is about anticipation, generosity, and making every guest feel entirely at ease.
  • Calm under pressure, whether it’s a full bar or an unexpected challenge, you remain composed, solutions-focused, and professional.
  • A clear and confident communicator, you build easy rapport with members and collaborate seamlessly with colleagues.
  • Service-driven at heart, you’re motivated by delivering consistently outstanding experiences to everyone around you.
  • Socially assured, comfortable interacting across a diverse and dynamic membership, adapting your style while remaining authentic.
  • Quick on your feet, you multitask with focus and energy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable, you embrace change and bring a positive, can-do mindset to every shift.
