About The Groucho Club

The Groucho exists to keep Soho’s artistic, liberal spirit burning bright, and to champion London’s role as a creative powerhouse on the world stage. A joyful, generous and welcoming space for ideas, creative life and the occasional late night.

Born in 1985 as the antidote to the cloistered gentlemen’s clubs of London’s Mayfair, The Groucho Club was founded on a  radical idea: that good company is the kind chosen by ideas rather than status, that emerging voices belong in the same room as established ones, and that culture is made through conversation, collision and curiosity.

Forty years on, that belief still drives everything we do. We exist to facilitate the conversations that shape culture now and next, to back the people making it, and to keep Soho generous, welcoming and alive to creative possibility. We host, we don’t serve.

Members and guests are people we know, not names on a list.

Membership Executive

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and relationship-focused Membership Executive to support the growth, engagement and retention of our membership community.

Working closely with the Membership Manager & Director, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional membership experience, managing the membership journey from enquiry and application through to engagement, renewal and retention.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, takes pride in delivering outstanding service, and wants to develop a career within one of London's most respected private members' clubs.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting as a key point of contact for members and prospective members.
  • Managing membership enquiries, applications, renewals and onboarding.
  • Building strong relationships with members and supporting their engagement with the Club.
  • Maintaining accurate membership records, databases and reporting.
  • Supporting member acquisition, retention and renewal initiatives.
  • Coordinating membership communications, benefits and member updates.
  • Supporting Club events and representing the Membership Department.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, member experience and departmental performance.
  • Providing insights, feedback and recommendations to the Membership Director.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Experience in membership, hospitality, customer service, administration or a relationship-focused environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience using CRM systems and databases.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to take ownership of your work.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, discreet and highly service-oriented.
  • Passionate about culture, creativity and community.
  •  Comfortable working primarily onsite and building strong relationships through a visible presence within the Club, with the ability to earn hybrid working flexibility through demonstrated performance, accountability and independence.
  • Excited by a varied role where no two days are the same and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Interested in engaging with member events, creative programming and special projects that support the Club's community and culture.
  •  Flexible and willing to adjust working hours to meet business needs, including occasional later shifts (10am–7pm or 11am–8pm) and attendance at member events and Club functions.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership, taking responsibility for their work, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and operating confidently with increasing autonomy.

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Competitive salary.
  • 30 days holiday including bank holidays, pro-rata.
  • Wagestream to support your financial wellbeing.
  • Nutritious meals prepared by our team.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Programme with Hospitality Action.
  • And all the other things that get us excited, including staff parties, food and drink tastings, unique events, and the opportunity to work alongside London’s most creative membership community.
