The pub
The Hare & Hounds is a beautiful destination venue, high on Lansdown Hill just outside Bath. It has stunning views overlooking the Charlcombe Valley and is busy morning, noon and night, especially in the summer when customers come from miles around to enjoy the sun terraces, outside bar and decking on the lower garden.
The Hare & Hounds holds one AA rosette for its cooking and serves home-cooked seasonal food all day, every day.
The role
The waiter/waitress’s role is to provide guests with friendly, professional service, and to ensure all guests leave happy. As such, it is one of the most important roles in the business.
You’ll need to have a friendly manner and be a good team player – great service comes from working well with your colleagues.
In return, we’ll give you all the training and support you’ll need to grow and develop. It’s hard work at times, but immensely rewarding – there’s nothing like working on a busy service when every customer leaves happy.
The Hare & Hounds is a busy pub which offers table service both inside and outside in the summer; your role will involve working in all customer areas.
Front of House
The role of the front of house team isn’t to serve food & drink – it’s to make every customer’s visit special. Of course, that often involves serving food and drink, but it’s so much more than that; a good front of house team turn good customer visits into great ones.
Our front of house roles give you a real opportunity to grow, learn and develop both personally and professionally. You’ll be working alongside people with a shared passion for delivering great service.
When it comes to service, we believe it’s about doing the basics really well and attention to detail; but above all it’s about the people. You can make the difference and make a customer’s visit truly memorable.
The Hare & Hounds is busy pretty much all year around, but especially so in the summer when the terraces and garden bar open. The introduction of our pay and order app helps front of house staff manage and give better customer service to the large number of customers who visit the pub on sunny days. It's one of several pieces pieces of technology you'll see in action that help deliver a smooth operation.
