The Pub

The Herne Tavern is at the heart of our local community—a friendly, welcoming pub where everyone is greeted with a smile and made to feel at home. Whether it's catching up over a pint, celebrating with family, enjoying a relaxed meal, or bringing the dog in after a walk, we pride ourselves on creating a space where people want to return time and time again. Our team is passionate about genuine hospitality, supporting one another, and building lasting relationships with our guests. We're looking for an Assistant Manager who shares these values and is excited to help lead a team that puts people first every single day.

The Role

• As Assistant Manager you will support the General Manager in all aspects of running the venue as if it were your own business. 
• Be business savvy and demonstrate great commercial understanding. 
• Your team will look up to you, it's essential to train, nurture and develop your staff to maintain incredibly high standards and customer satisfaction.
• This role would also suit an aspiring Supervisor looking for their first Assistant Manager position as you will be given the opportunity to train, personally develop and progress your career as the company continues to grow.

What we looking for:

• "Wear your heart on your sleave", take ownership, be bold and run the business as if it's your own
• Be cool, calm and collected, manage pressure with ease, nothing can phase you
• You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get sh*t done
• Must have minimum 1 years’ experience as a manager depending on the property being looked at
• Solid communication and organisational skills, be approachable
• Superb customer & floor service skills
• An entrepreneurial flare
• Passionate about people, training, mentoring, growing a team but most importantly, loves to have fun
