Event Planner – Full Time | Essex | £34,000 + Benefits
Join a premium, high-volume hospitality venue delivering over 80 weddings each year, complemented by a diverse calendar of conferences, private celebrations, charity events and awards ceremonies. It is a dynamic environment where the pace is high and the atmosphere is engaging.
This is a hands-on role with full ownership of your events from initial enquiry through to delivery. You will be working in a commercially driven setting where expectations are high and attention to detail is essential.
This role is ideal for an experienced events professional who enjoys a busy, people-focused environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding events with precision and flair.
The Role
You will manage the full event lifecycle, ensuring each booking is executed seamlessly and to a consistently high standard:
· Manage enquiries, client communication, show rounds and conversion
· Build detailed event plans, timelines and function sheets
· Coordinate suppliers and internal teams to deliver smooth operations
· Oversee events on the day, leading from the front and resolving issues in real time
· Manage post-event administration including invoicing and client follow-up
· Work closely with the operational team to ensure consistency, quality and delivery standards
A Hands-On Role
This is not an office-based planning position. You will be fully involved in the physical delivery of events, working alongside the operational team to ensure each event is executed to a high standard.
You will lead from the front, supporting with room set-ups, service delivery and the overall flow of the event. You will be visible, proactive and present throughout, managing your team while setting the standard through your own approach and work ethic.
This role requires someone who is equally confident planning behind the scenes and taking control on the floor during live events.
What We’re Looking For
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a premium venue, hotel or events environment
· Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a high-volume setting
· Strong commercial awareness with a focus on conversion and revenue
· Confident communicator, both written and verbal
· Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
· Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
· Strong IT skills, including booking systems, EPOS and Microsoft Office 365
· Comfortable taking a hands-on approach to event delivery, not just planning
· Leads by example on the floor, setting standards through actions as well as direction
· Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and peak trading periods
What You’ll Get
· Salary of £34,000 per annum + benefits
· Real ownership of your events and the opportunity to make a visible impact
· Career progression within a growing hospitality group
· 25% discount on food & drink across the group
· 50% discount on accommodation across the group
· Access to company training and development platform
· Wellness programme
· Staff benefits platform with discounts across major retailers
· Free on-site parking
Why This Role Stands Out
This is not a desk-based coordination role. You will be at the centre of a premium, high-performing events operation, trusted to manage your own workload and deliver exceptional events in a demanding but rewarding environment.
You will play a key role in a venue with significant event volume, giving you the opportunity to sharpen your skills, build credibility and progress your career within a respected hospitality business.
