Description

This is a great opportunity to take the first steps in your hospitality career and work as part of the Kitchen team within Surya Hotels.  In a new era in hospitality, make your mark and really drive forwards, embracing our ‘Ownership with Personality’ values.

It’s a picture perfect scene. Swans glide past a whitewashed mill, nestled on the riverbank by an ancient bridge, framed by weeping willows. Lush green water-meadows stretch as far as the eye can see. Welcome to The Mill Hotel, a beautifully converted watermill in the quintessential country town of Sudbury, Suffolk.

History and modernity meet here, with soothing, contemporary interiors throughout the hotel and it’s 62 rooms, complementing the mill’s original features, among them the waterwheel itself – an atmospheric centerpiece in the restaurant and relaxing bar. Within minutes of the hotel, picturesque villages dot some of England’s loveliest countryside in scenes made famous by romantic artist John Constable.

To be a successful Kitchen Porter, an important part of our kitchen team, you will need;

* A positive, can do attitude to ensure all kitchen equipment, tools and guest crockery and cutlery are cleaned and ready when needed

* To take pride in your work- confident in being a crucial part in the wheel of kitchen operations

* A willingness to learn about different food, techniques and service styles- able to take on new tasks to support the chefs and colleagues

* A team player- there to support and ensure the wheels keep turning in the kitchen, really pulling through in those peak periods
