We are seeking a professional and welcoming Doorperson /Luggage Porter to join our team. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional first impression and ensuring a seamless arrival and departure experience. This position reports directly to the Head Concierge. 

Location: The Montague on the Gardens, Bloomsbury 

Employment type: Full-time 40 hours per week

Working pattern: 4 on 4 off

Salary: £25,397 per annum + service charge

The Montague on the Gardens Hotel part of the Red Carnation Hotels, is a four star deluxe hotel located in the heart of London’s elegant Bloomsbury. This Georgian townhouse features 100 individually designed bedrooms and suites, a Leopard Bar, the Blue Door Bistro restaurant, a wood deck terrace and several function rooms. It is famous for al-fresco dining, including an alpine themed Ski Lodge in the winter and a Hawaiian Beach Bar in the summer. 

Key Responsibilities of a Doorperson / Luggage Porter:   

  • Warmly welcome guests and assist with luggage handling upon arrival and departure.
  • Provide courteous and efficient assistance at the entrance, opening doors and guiding guests.
  • Offer helpful and knowledgeable advice about London’s attractions, transport, and local amenities.
  • Assist with guest requests, including arranging transportation and handling deliveries.
  • Escorting guests to their rooms and showing them the hotel facilities. 
  • Answering general guest queries and ensuring the lobby and front area of the hotel is presentable and clean at all times.
What are we looking for?
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel or hospitality setting.
  • A positive and welcoming attitude with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of London’s key attractions, transport links, and local areas.
  • Ability to handle luggage and assist guests efficiently.
