Kitchen Porter

Description

Fancy working for an award winning business? Do you want to work in a kitchen that creates innovative and delicious food you can be proud of?

Well, here at Butcombe, we pride ourselves in giving our chefs the freedom to create awesome, seasonal dishes whilst providing an industry leading and award winning environment to ‘get your cook on’!

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant/Porter to join the family.

Perched on the edge of the historic Bristol harbourside, The Ostrich sits proudly with its huge pub garden and cosy interiors over two floors. Upstairs, the newly refurbished ‘Top Deck’ dining space and bar offers the perfect spot to eat and drink, with stunning views over the harbour, and is available for private hire. Please note you can only book a table in our Top Deck bar, outside is a first come first serve basis.

On the menu, it’s a celebration of traditional British pub classics and seasonal, local produce, with exciting small plates and delicious boards for sharing, plus our famous pies and bar snacks. When Sunday comes, expect Bristol’s best roasts and the star of the show – our sharing pies.

Behind the bar, it’s all about award-winning Butcombe beers and an extensive rum menu – a nod to The Ostrich’s roots as a dockside inn where sailors, merchants and dock-workers once drank.

What’s in it for you?

- The chance to work for an award winning business.  We are 2 times (yes, 2 times!) winners of the Best Food Offering at the National Publican Awards and have recently been awarded the Best Managed Pub Company for 2021.
- The opportunity to work for a diverse company and get experience in a range of kitchens and menus.
- Access to industry leading training and development.
- A competitive hourly rate.
- A sensible working week. OK, everyone says this but we genuinely mean it! We will always try and make sure you do sensible hours and can be your best.
- A business who cares about you. We offer an Employee Assistance Program that is there 24/7 to provide you with support.
- Staff parties, events, training courses and much more!

You will be:

- A Team Player. The brigade is a close knit bunch and you will be someone who helps raise the spirits of your team.

- The Heartbeat of the kitchen. Without you, we cannot cook and deliver our amazing food. You will ensure the chefs have what they need and the kitchen is spick and span.

- Passionate. Everything we do is from the heart and we genuinely get a buzz from seeing our customers enjoy themselves. You will love food and play a part in making sure everything we serve is made with love!

- Yourself. We are an eclectic bunch and want individuals not robots.

- Ambitious. We run an industry leading training scheme and love a bit of internal promotion! Are you a Head Chef of the future? If so, we will help and support you on your journey.
