The Events department is based on-site and brings extraordinary concepts to life within The Pembroke by curating exclusive functions ranging from intimate events, private hires and bespoke business meetings to large-scale events.

ROLE OVERVIEW

To further elevate and enhance our events offering, we are seeking a dedicated and professional Events Waiter to contribute to the club's success by delivering exceptional service at private functions, member events, and special occasions.

The ideal candidate is polished, attentive, and service-driven, with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. This role is central to the successful delivery of a wide range of events, ensuring service is executed seamlessly, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with the events, kitchen, and bar teams to provide outstanding hospitality, adapting to the varied requirements of each event while maintaining professionalism, flexibility, and attention to detail. A proactive approach, strong teamwork, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Deliver exceptional food and beverage service at private events, banquets, receptions, meetings, and member functions

·       Set up, prepare, and break down event spaces according to event specifications and club standards

·       Serve food, beverages, and canapés efficiently and professionally throughout events

·       Ensure event rooms and service areas remain organised, clean, and well-presented at all times

·       Liaise effectively with the events, kitchen, and bar teams to ensure smooth service delivery

·       Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly, professionally, and discreetly

·       Assist with room resets, furniture movement, and event turnaround requirements where necessary

·       Maintain an excellent knowledge of event menus, beverage offerings, and service styles

·       Handle guest enquiries confidently and escalate concerns appropriately when required

·       Support colleagues to ensure all events run smoothly and successfully

·       Comply with all health, safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations

·       Represent the club professionally, ensuring every guest receives a warm and memorable experience

REQUIREMENTS

·       Previous experience in hospitality, events, banqueting, hotels, private members' clubs, or high-volume food and beverage operations

·       Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·       Professional, friendly, and guest-focused approach

·       Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic events environment

·       Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

·       Ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues during busy service periods

·       Well-presented with high standards of personal grooming

·       Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

·       Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

·       A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within the role
