Role Overview

As a Junior Sous Chef at The Princess Royal, you’ll play a pivotal role in our culinary operations. This position is ideal for a chef looking to step up, take on greater responsibilities, and hone their skills in a high-energy, vibrant setting. Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll help drive our menu’s success, maintain high standards, and inspire a close-knit kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Execution & Development
    Work closely with our Head and Sous Chefs to bring exciting new dishes to life. You’ll contribute your ideas, ensuring we continue to delight our guests with fresh, seasonal flavours.
  • Kitchen Leadership
    Assist in the day-to-day management of the kitchen, including leading sections during service, setting up prep stations, and coordinating team tasks. You’ll mentor junior staff, promoting a positive and productive working environment.
  • Quality & Consistency
    Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation. Consistency is key—your attention to detail will ensure each dish reflects our commitment to quality.
  • Health & Safety
    Uphold rigorous standards for hygiene, health, and safety in line with food safety regulations, ensuring a clean and safe environment for both staff and guests.
  • Stock & Inventory Management
    Support the management of inventory, assisting with orders and ensuring efficient stock rotation. Waste reduction and sustainable practices are core to our approach, and you’ll help keep our kitchen efficient and eco-friendly.
