The Red Lion has closed for major refurbishments and we looking for a Deputy General Manager to lead the way as we relaunch this historic venue.

Step into a role that combines history, community, and hospitality at The Red Lion, a beloved British pub that has been serving locals since 1870. With its eclectic charm and welcoming atmosphere, The Red Lion is not just a pub; it's the heart of the community. Our stunning antique ballroom is perfect for weddings, birthdays, and big celebrations, while our secret beer garden invites you to relax and soak up the sunshine. Plus, with 10 boutique hotel rooms, we offer a unique experience for all guests.


The Role

  • As Deputy General Manager you will support the General Manager in all aspects of running the venue as if it were your own business. 
  • Be business savvy and demonstrate great commercial acumen. 
  • Your team will look up to you, it's essential to train, nurture and develop your staff to maintain incredibly high standards and customer satisfaction.
  • You will be given the opportunity to train, personally develop and progress your career as the company continues to grow.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • A bold leader who takes ownership and wears their heart on their sleeve
  • Ability to stay cool and collected under pressure
  • A collaborative spirit; we leave egos at the door to get things done
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a General Manager
  • Solid communication and organizational skills
  • Superb customer and floor service expertise
  • A deep understanding of business from financials to customer satisfaction
  • An entrepreneurial flair with a passion for community engagement and creating events
  • A love for training, mentoring, and growing a team while having fun
  • Personal License holder is a plus
