General Manager -  Iconic East London pub, The Red Lion

We are looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead the team at The Red Lion, Leytonstone. A much-loved local with character in spades, The Red Lion is a vibrant East London pub known for its friendly vibe, quality food, and packed-out weekends. With a lively bar, dining area, versatile events spaces, and a buzzing beer garden, The Red Lion is a community hub that blends the charm of a traditional pub with the edge of modern East London.

As General Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall performance and reputation of the pub. From managing the team and delivering outstanding guest experiences, to hitting sales targets and driving events, this is a hands-on leadership role that requires passion, resilience, and strong commercial acumen.

The Role

  • As GM you will take full ownership of all aspects of running the venue. You will be given autonomy and run the site as if it were your own business. 
  • Being business savvy and demonstrating great commercial acumen is a must. 
  • Your team will look up to you, it's essential to train, nurture and develop your staff to maintain incredibly high standards and customer satisfaction.
  • You have impeccable floor & bar knowledge together with an understanding of planning and managing events.
  • You will be given the opportunity to train, personally develop and progress your career as the company continues to grow.

What we looking for:

  • Be cool, calm and collected, manage pressure with ease, nothing can phase you.
  • You’re not precious, we leave our egos at the door.
  • Must have minimum 2 years’ experience as a General Manager.
  • Solid communication and organisational skills, be approachable.
  • Superb customer & floor service skills.
  • A proven track record of managing events.
  • Excellent all-round business knowledge from financials to customer satisfaction.
  • An entrepreneurial flare.
  • Passionate about people, training, mentoring, growing a team but most importantly, loves to have fun
  • Personal License holder beneficial
