We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Bar Manager to join the team and manage our hotel bar. We are looking for someone who has previous experience in a similar role in a hotel environmentwho has excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, good organisational skills and team leadership skills. 

Location: Rubens at The Palace Hotel (SW1W 0PS)

Employment type: Full-time

Working pattern: Shift work, start from 12pm till close approximate 8 hors/ day, 5 days on 2 days off  per week. 

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum ( inclusive tronc)

The Rubens at the Palace Hotel part of the Red Carnation Hotels, is a stunning five-star property located in the heart of London’s Victoria and within walking distance of Buckingham Palace. This wonderful hotel has been fully refurbished and features 161 individually designed bedrooms and suites, as well as a range of Food and Beverage outlets including The English Grill Restaurant, The Curry Room Restaurant, The New York Bar, The Palace Lounge and Champagne Bar, as well as 9 well equipped function rooms. 


Key responsibilities of the Assistant Bar Manager will include:

  • Ensures compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards and procedures by training, supervising, follow-up and hands on management.
  • Maintains service and sanitation standards in Bars
  • Acts as the guest service role model for the Bar department, sets a good example of excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Manages service delivery in outlets to ensure excellent service from point of entry to departure (e.g.. greeting from hostess, speed of order taking and food and beverage delivery, fulfilment of special requests, collection of payment & invitation to return).
  • To perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the Food & Beverage Manager or any other Senior Manager of The Rubens at the Palace Hotel.

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or luxury restaurant environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and an eye for maintaining high standards in both service and presentation.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership abilities with experience in motivating and developing a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
