Bar Manager
What are we looking for?
At The Savoy, exceptional service and flavours are the hallmarks of every visit to our bars. The leadership and passion you provide as Bar Manager ensures successful operations and inspires your team to deliver exceptional service and drink offerings to our guests.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Bars, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
•To implement Fairmont service standards through disciplined administration of departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
•To develop the leadership skills of leaders in the Bar. This includes the development of decision making skills, performance management techniques, function planning ability, process mapping and analysis, and sense of urgency and ownership.
•To ensure effective working relationships and clear communication are maintained with all colleagues and leaders in the bar and other departments.
•To develop and administer the departmental Employee Engagement Survey Action Plan and use monthly Peakon data to ensure that we are maximising our colleague experience through engagement.
•To critically assess procedures, policies, and methods of operation and alter them where necessary in order to maximise results.
•To ensure the financial success of the department by monitoring productivities, revenues and costs.
•To implement all FHR finance and accounting procedures that are relevant to the bar operation.
•To assist in the recruitment and training of all bar colleagues
•To liaise with the kitchen to ensure that a common vision is shared.
•To create and implement all beverage menus in cooperation with the Head Bartender as well as work closely with the kitchen on the creation of all food menus.
•To liaise with other Food and Beverage departments to ensure that all resources are being equally shared.
•To ensure that all equipment, fixtures, and furniture of the department are kept in the best repair possible and are used in a safe and proper manner.
•To ensure that all financial targets are achieved.
•To develop and maintain a safety culture within the department and ensure departmental adherence to and awareness of Health and Safety standards.
•To ensure departmental participation in all hotel-wide environmental initiatives, and to develop departmental specific environmental initiatives.
•To achieve or exceed all targeted objectives as it relates to our pillars (Forbes, LQA, Peakon etc)
•To attend leadership meetings, pre-convention and other meetings as required.
•Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings
